Continuing to work towards I style I like, that's also comfortable for me draw. Getting there. I named this character Vaila after a name I saw on a credit card at work. ^_^

Woo! Sketchjam last night! First time out of the flat in, like, 2 days! T'were pretty cool, if a bit quieter than usual.



My first work on a new character, complete with notation rubbish.



Slight refinement of the character. Not the style I want though, so this version will likely be scrapped (not literally though, it'll just stay in my sketchbook). The giant question mark is due to a very bizarre conversation that was taking place next to me as I was drawing this.

I think I'm going to have to start taking referance/source material with me to Sketchjam nights - I keep running out of things to draw depressingly quickly!

Title: Dreaming of Dreaming

So, these are the last 2 drawings I have done whilst being a student at Edinburgh's Telford College. Literally the last. Sadly, as a result of being unable to complete the remediation work set following my last assessment (man, that was awful) I have had to withdraw from my course. It's my own fault completely though, so, um...yeah. No one to blame but me.

I don't regret anything though (except the rampant procrastination, of course). If anything, this experiance has taught me what I have to do, what needs to be changed and so on. And I appreciate traditional art & artists so much more now.

So, my plan is to continue drawing, drawing, drawing, get the hang of sketchbooks & developing ideas from them, and apply for the BTEC course again next year (which luckily, I have the option of doing).

I'll miss the friends I made though.

More college stuff! This time sketches from Metric's video for "Poster Of A Girl" (the hint was in the title) complete with my sketchbook notation crap.





I really had fun drawing these (even if it was from an infuriatingly low-res video) And there is a reason for doing this (as if drawing Miss Haines wasn't reason enough!) There is method in my madness and all will be revealed...maybe.

I thought I liked the 1st and the 3rd best, but looking at them now, I think I like 'em all.
